BulkSMS

Bulk SMS or SMS Push refers to sending of a message to a group of phone numbers with a personalized SenderID. Normally referred to as a broadcast, phone numbers are put into a address book or a list and then a user composes a message that is pushed to those numbers through an SMS gateway that is configured to a bulk messaging client.

This kind of service is preferred because it is fast, cheap and phone independent i.e. any phone can receive and/or send an SMS.
